A red and white gingham pouch with a ruffled edge, about eight inches across.
Gingham is having a long moment and this is the low commitment way into it. A ruffled clutch is small enough to live inside a tote and come out on its own when the occasion is casual, which covers most of summer: a picnic, a farmers market, an outdoor concert, a wedding welcome party in a garden.
The ruffle runs about an inch and a half around the edge, which is what keeps it from reading as a plain zip pouch. Inside there is a poly lining, so it holds a phone, keys, a card case, and a lipstick without any of it snagging.
It also works as the wrapping for a gift, which is a better use of ten dollars than a gift bag that gets thrown away.
