How do you remove wax from a candle holder? Wax that has dripped onto a candle holder is easiest to remove once it has fully hardened, since chilling the piece makes the wax brittle enough to lift out of the cup in one go. On painted or resin holders, avoid hot water and metal scrapers, because heat and blades can lift the finish along with the wax.
