Party crackers are a Christmas habit, and this is the argument for stealing them for October. The kraft vintage bon bon is a jumbo format, a 10 inch paper tube wrapped to a 15 inch finished length in fabric print tissue with curling ribbon at both ends, hand packed with 17 to 20 small surprises. Nothing about it snaps or pops. You pull it apart, which keeps it usable for the youngest person at the table and for the dog under it. The kraft and black palette is the reason to choose this one over the brighter halloween crackers on the shelf: it sits comfortably with candles, brass, and dried florals, so it reads as part of the vintage halloween decorations rather than a novelty parked on top of them. When do you give a boo basket?
Boo baskets are usually delivered in the first half of October, leaving the recipient time to boo someone else before Halloween. They are traditionally left on a doorstep anonymously, often with a printed sign for the recipient's door.
