A dog collar should be snug but comfortable, with room to slide two fingers flat between the collar and your dog's neck. If more than two fingers fit it is too loose, and if you cannot fit two it is too tight. Measure your dog's neck before ordering, and check the fit often on puppies and long-haired breeds so the adjustable collar always sits right.

Fold the bandana into a triangle, roll the long edge into a band, then drape it around your dog's neck and tie the ends in a secure knot, leaving it loose enough to slip two fingers underneath.
