Holiday Village

Start with a few lighted houses as anchors, then add a snowy base, figures, trees, and lampposts to fill the scene. A mantel, shelf, or console makes a good display surface. Build it up over time, mixing heights and rooflines for a collected, storybook look, and add warm lighting so the village glows.

Pick a flat surface like a mantel, console, or bookshelf, then lay a base of cotton snow or white fabric. Arrange houses at varying heights using risers or boxes underneath, leave little streets between them, and fill in with figures and trees. Keep the tallest pieces toward the back so everything stays visible.

Yes, Christmas village houses and figures are made to reuse year after year, so they become a cherished part of your holiday decorating. Many families add a piece or two each season and pass the village down over time, which makes it a meaningful, lasting tradition.
