DIY 4TH OF JULY FOOD IDEAS
The perfect 4th of July party calls for fireworks, fun, and fabulous food! Whether you’re hosting a backyard barbecue or a patriotic picnic, your Independence Day party menu should be as festive as your decor.
From red, white, and blue fruit boards to star-spangled sugar cookies, we’ve rounded up our favorite 4th of July snacks and sweets. Read on for our delicious DIY food ideas and presentation tips for the best patriotic party spread!

Fruit & Charcuterie Boards
Start with a show-stopping charcuterie board, complete with cheese, crackers, and a bounty of berries. A flag-shaped arrangement is always a crowd-pleaser, but even a spread of fruit on a festive platter will do the trick. We suggest serving an assortment of red and blue fruits, such as strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries.
Don’t forget the watermelon! A classic summer fruit, you can easily cut it into slivers for an American flag fruit cup, or create tiny stars to garnish your cocktails and party drinks.

American Flag Hot Dogs
If you’re hosting a 4th of July barbecue, hot dogs are essential. We recommend serving your hot dogs and buns on a wooden platter, arranging them in rows to look like stripes on a flag. Add some blue tortilla chips in the upper right corner, and complete the look with tiny cheese stars.
Red, White, & Blue Salad
To keep your menu balanced, serve a fresh spinach salad topped with blueberries, strawberries, and crumbled feta for a pop of patriotic color. Toss it in a festive bowl with a light vinaigrette, and serve it alongside a 4th of July table runner to level up the presentation.

Patriotic PB&Js
If you’re hosting a kids' 4th of July party, you can’t go wrong with some classic peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. We suggest making them white bread and red jelly, then serving them on a blue tray for that July 4th feel. For an extra playful twist, cut them into stars with a cookie cutter!
Americana Cherry Pie
No 4th of July party is complete without a decked-out dessert table. A classic cherry pie screams Americana and looks beautiful displayed on a blue-striped table covering. For a sophisticated touch, create a flag shape for your top crust, complete with dough stripes and star embellishments.

HAMBURGER CAKE
If you’re craving a unique 4th of July dessert, a hamburger-shaped cake is guaranteed to please! Made to look like a burger dressed in condiments, it’s easy to make and perfect for turning heads at any celebration. (Check out our DIY Hamburger Cake blog post for the full recipe!)
Red, White, & Blue Sugar Cookies
No matter what kind of gathering you’re hosting, 4th of July sugar cookies are guaranteed to please. Feel free to get creative and go all out with red, white, and blue frosting, along with lots of sprinkles. Stack them on a star-shaped platter to create a festive centerpiece that doubles as dessert! For an even sweeter spread, serve them alongside chocolate-dipped pretzels in the same red, white, and blue hues.

Presentation is key to making your food table feel like part of the party. We suggest using elevated party supplies like our Happy 4th of July Dessert Plates and Red Gingham 4th of July Napkins. Add levels and texture with festive serveware and decor to create the perfect photo-ready setup.
